A bit about my approach to therapy
I take a client centered, eclectic, integrative, strength based and holistic approach towards my clients. Since I am an eclectic and integrative practitioner, I like to use the best elements from various therapies to suit your needs and frame work to help you in your therapeutic journey. I use tools and techniques that belong to CBT, DBT, mindfulness, SFBT, solution focused therapy, art based therapy, narrative therapy, feminist therapies, compassionate focused therapy and mindfulness based somatic therapies.
What you can expect from my first session
In our first session, we would focus on making you comfortable, building a good rapport and trust to begin our therapeutic relationship and making you feel safe. We would begin with getting to know each other and discussing your present concerns. We would then delve into all and any factors that might be affecting your current state. We would move into lightly touching your history and its most important elements such as childhood history, medical history, education etc. We will objectively look into changes that you can observe in your mental and physical being. Also, identify your strengths and coping mechanisms as well. We would also discuss your confidentiality agreement. Later, we will identify areas and issues you would like to work on with the help of a priority list. Lastly, we will also try and identify at least one need based tool to take home.
