Hey! Happy to see you here.
In the fast-paced lives that we live, often we may find ourselves struggling to make sense. We often try to figure out what to do in order to have some sense of calm and meaning in our chaotic lives. It’s also more challenging due to the capitalistic structures and social-media influences, which often make us wonder, ‘Am I doing enough? Am I working hard enough? Pretty enough? Aesthetic enough?’ Additionally, our social support systems may not be able to show up for us consistently, because well, they are also going through the same set of difficulties. I understand that life can be super tough, and sometimes, we just need a co-passenger to tag along with us, someone to show us a little understanding, while we figure things out on our own. I can support you, through all these overwhelming stressful conditions that life throws at us so that we can become more congruent, authentic selves and find meaning amongst this all.

A bit about my approach to therapy
I very strongly believe that people are the experts of their own lives, and we as therapists can only be facilitators on their journey. I see therapy, as a place of self-exploration, in a safe, collaborative environment. I like to work at the client's pace, giving them autonomy and control over their healing journeys. I primarily work with individuals who may have faced any form of trauma in their lives, which now affects their ability to show up for themselves and others. I use an eclectic approach, where I use techniques like CBT, Trauma work, Narrative practices, Mindfulness and Art based practices. I use social justice and a feminist lens in therapy, as I believe that Mental health concerns often don’t exist in isolation, are mostly systemic. My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed and queer-affirmative.
What to expect in my first therapy session?
For many individuals, their first session might be their last, due to many factors. Although I do believe that long-term work is more powerful, I still try to make the best use of whatever time we may have together. I start by making the client comfortable and building rapport and try to know about them, their lives, and the areas that they are currently struggling with. Then we chalk out the concerns that require immediate attention and figure out ways for them to be more functional in daily lives. I feel it's important to do that, before delving into the past and understanding the root cause of these issues. It could only be done when the individual feels safe and grounded enough in the present. A gentle and compassionate approach goes a long way.
